#we are not different
We face discrimination almost on a daily basis be it in our classrooms, place of work or right in our homes. Truth is no one is immune to discrimination and will never be. Albinos are no exception to this rule. The amount of discrimination faced by the albinos in society is humongous. This
discrimination stems from their physical appearance and myths influenced by superstition, which further fosters their marginalization and social exclusion. These erroneous beliefs in some communities has put the lives of Albinos in constant risk; the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution in 2013 calling for the prevention of attacks and discrimination against persons with albinism which is why the Integrated Health Organization has taken up this cause to help eliminate any form of stigmatization or discrimination towards Albinos.
Join us on the 9th of July, 9:00am at the University of American corner in our debate forum to help educate and reduce ignorance that persist in the minds of people concerning Albinism.
